One of my dearest friends Dawn is in her last year of nursing school. Last week at the hospital Dawn had the privilege of taking care of an amazing and wonderful lady. She was only 64 and had battled with MS since 1981. She was wheelchair bound by the time her kids were 10 and 6. Today her grandbabies are only 2 and 4. She was completely crippled before they even got a chance to have a Grammy… in fact she could only move her right hand and her head and the rest of her body had no feeling or motion. She was funny, and feisty, and had such a wonderful outlook on things despite her disease.
She was going back home from the hospital on Thursday of last week to be with her devoted husband who took care of her at home over all of these years. He would never even consider putting her in a nursing home because he loved her and wanted to take care of her himself. As they were putting her into the wheelchair to leave the hospital, she had a stroke and she died. Dawn had taken care of her the 2 days prior to this and when she went into the hospital this week the other nurses told her what happened. Dawn was devastated… she’d never had a patient die before and feels for her husband and her entire family. That man loved his wife in a way that is rare and special, and it is hard to imagine what he is going through.
This wonderfully inspirational woman’s name was Virginia… this alpha is dedicated to her, her friends and family and to everyone else who is suffering through life altering illness. Best wishes for continued strength, support and love.

Thanks for the alpha.Love it!
Your story hit too close to home. I'm also in a wheel chair with MS. I am thankful i can use a mouse and digi scrap! I think its my grandchildren that helps me get thru a day....they are my favorites to scrap.
These are beautiful, Ailsa! Thank you so much.
I'm so sorry Dawn had to go through losing a patient. It's hard. My son is a P.A., and I know how difficult it is for him. You get so attached to people.
So wonderful of you to make this tribute to a lovely lady.
Hugs, Angel
